If you have a PDA and live in the Vancouver area and would like to be able to check local movie listings and showtimes on your PDA, then this is the hack for you. It grabs the content from this page at myBC.com, parses out the relevant cities and theatres and displays the movies currently playing. Currently showing theatre info for Vancouver, Burnaby, Langley, Surrey, and Richmond.


This is what it looks like on your PDA.

This hack is based on a Perl one my boss originally wrote. I converted it to PHP and hosted it here so I could become familiar with regular expressions. Let me know if there are any problems, or even if you find it useful and plan on using it. Oh, and tell your friends, or something.


I'm sure I could easily write a similar hack for the myTO.com movies page because it's the exact same. But I don't live in Toronto and don't really care about the center of the universe. :)
