i have to admit, by track 7, i was disappointed by this Snow Tires album. i usually don't buy CDs i haven't heard any more, but i took a chance on this one and was kicking myself for it. but then came track 8, this song, and it absolutely floored me. while i haven't made my complete list yet, this is definitely one of the top 10 best songs of the year.
Sufjan Stevens - To Be Alone With You
this is the most played song according to my winamp media library. 54 times since March 30th. the line you probably can't make out is "to be alone with me, you went up on the tree" so quiet and so jarring. the second best song of the year.
tomorrow later, the best song of 2004.
