some recent bands and their respective genres i've been listening to lately:

AFI - goth punk. been listening to this album a lot lately. where else am i going to get words like discarnate and preternatural to use everyday?

Turbonegro - Norwegian gay death punk. are you ready for some darkness? most rock now lacks balls. this is rock with balls. goth punk and death punk...two genres made just for me.

Manic Hispanic - latino old school punk from a bunch of ex-cons:

Manic Hispanic came together in the early-1990's as part of a work release program. The idea was formed by OC Probation Officer Freddie Gomez, "I thought if I could keep these guys on a stage, they would stay out of trouble on the streets."

Yeastie Girlz - political all-girl acapella rap. ah the good old political all-girl acapella rap genre. my favourite genre of all!

The Locust - spazzcore.

"Either you hear it, get it and embrace it, or write it off as unintelligible noise distinguished only by bad taste. Both views are probably right..." - Aversion.

exactly. i can't explain why i like unintelligibile noise sometimes. i just do.
